Stranraer kept up their promotion hopes with a slim win over a determined Queens Park side, thanks to a second half goal by David Graham and the dismissal of Kettlewell by referee Downie.
The Blues started the match well, winning two corners in the opening minute. Stephen Swift came closest in the second effort with a powerful low drive that narrowly went past the upright.
In the third minute Kevin Finlayson broke clear, but his shot was directed straight at Scrimgour in the Spider's goal.
Queens Park's only effort at goal came in the 17th minute when Canning attempted to lob McCondichie from 20 yards out, but missed the crossbar by inches.
Stranraer continued to harass the visitor's goal, but were unable to break the deadlock.
In the 67th minute David Graham gave the Blues the lead. Kevin Finlayson fired in a long ball to the advancing Graham who slotted the ball high and wide of Scrimgour into the corner of the net.
Eight minutes later Queens were reduced to ten men when Stuart Kettlewell was given his marching orders for a dubious tackle on Fraser Wright. In the same incident Richard Sinclair was booked for questioning the referee's decision.
The game finished on a shabby note when in the closing minutes David McCallum, Frankie Carroll and Ross Clark were all booked; frustration clearly getting to the visitors.
Man of the Match- David Graham.
Overall Summary- Not the best of performances, but another three points to get us out of the Third Division
