Hello children. Are you sitting comfortably? Good, then I'll begin my electronic fireside chat will manger Billy McLaren. Top scorer Ian Harty also let's us know what his plans for the future are.

Billy's View

Billy's View

Stranraer 1-0 Stenhousemuir

After the match Billy gave me his thought on the game:

He said that "It was nice to finish with a home win" and that the Blues ".. were worthy of the win, but it wasn't convincing."

Billy was also pleased about the defense and added that "the back players started very tidily and again we made a substitution that worked well for us"

Ian Harty situation?

The next question I put to the gaffer was the future of top striker Ian Harty.

"If we lose Ian Harty we are looking for possible replacements."

"Last season we lost Paul Walker through Bosman, but he is playing very well at Partick now."

The boss stated that " Ian will be offered terms, but if he takes them up that's a different matter."

Main Problems this season?

Billy summed up how the season had progressed:

"We had a fiery start, played well against Hibs and after that we fell apart."

He then compared it to last season when it "started well, [lost to Celtic in the] cup tie, [and then] fell away. Adding that "if we had beaten Arbroath we would have been up there and not them."

Ian Harty's comments:

I then focused my questions on nineteen goal Ian Harty. I asked him that having been the top scorer for the last two seasons are you aware that there are clubs interested in you?

He replied "I am aware, but I don't know who is watching me at the moment."

"The club have offered me a new contract but I want to play full-time, but until anybody [sic] comes in for me I can't do that.

He finished up by saying that he "could definitely do a job at a higher level."

What do you think? Is Billy correct with the way the game and season went? Should Ian Harty be kept at all cost? Do you think we could find a suitable replacement? Have your say on the discussion board!
