Collingwood could be added to Ashes squad

Paul Collingwood could be added to the England squad for the second Ashes test at Edgbaston next week. Colly scored a career best 190 at Derby last week and has put himself in with a chance of starting an Ashes test. Many commentators have pointed to Colly as an obvious addition to the squad, what is less obvious is who would make way for him in a starting eleven. The most likely candidate is Ashley Giles who could make way if the selectors decide that his bowling is unlikley to be effective at Birmingham and that a longer batting order would give England a better chance.

Another good performance this week against Somerset would strengthen Colly's case even further and if England continue to have problems then it is likely that he will get his chance.
