The promotion chase starts for real tomorrow when we meet Glamorgan at Cardiff. Glamorgan also have promotion hopes so we really need to do well this week. Durham travel to Glamorgan tomorrow knowing that a win would really boost our promotion chances. Glamorgan are close behind us in the table and still have a chance of promotion themselves.

Glamorgan have lost their last two championship matches but the last match was a very close affair against league leaders Worcestershire. The stars for Glamorgan this season have been captain Robert Croft with the ball and Matthew Maynard with the bat.

Croft has taken 63 wickets this season, closely followed by Michael Kasprowicz with 62 and it was these two that dominated the last time the two sides met when Glamorgan won by 10 wickets after dismissing us for 124 and 114.

Martin Love is back for Durham and he replaces Gordon Muchall at number three. Shoaib Akhtar plays his last game before he travels home to play two tests against Bangladesh. Bridge gets the nod ahead of Phillips who travels as 12th man. Killeen and Davies complete the bowling lineup.

The full squad is Lewis, Gough, Love, Gary Pratt, Peng, Wells, Mustard, Bridge, Shoaib, Killeen, Davies, Phillips.

Durham's other major rival for promotion is Yorkshire, they play leaders Worcestershire tomorrow so this is a chance for us to put more points on the board than Yorkshire and move to third place in the division.
