Still No Raikkonen Deal - What's Going On?

It was suggested that Kimi Raikkonen would be confirmed to race for Ferrari this weekend, but no such thing has taken place. Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo even says that he has no contract in place with Kimi, but does admit that he would love to sign the young Finn:

"Why do you assume that a deal has been done? It is not like this.

I haven't got any kind of contact, unfortunately, with a fantastic driver like Raikkonen. Talking to potential drivers is a very intelligent suggestion, not only with Raikkonen. I think it's important to have a spare tie in your pocket, Mr Ferrari told me that."

Mercedes' Norbert Haug also denies that any deal has been done:

"Kimi ensures me that there is no agreement with Ferrari. He has said it to my face, and I do not accuse him of lying."

Well, it seems like just more games from the parties involved. Regardless of whether Raikkonen has signed or not, one thing remains true: Ferrari should sign Kimi, he is the best of the new drivers and would bring glory to the Scuderia. The Tifosi definitely want him, and it would seem foolish if Ferrari did not snap up the young Finn when they have the chance.
