De Beers and Ferrari have both revealed that there is absolutely no deal being signed between them. It was initially reported that De Beers would be replacing the departing Vodafone as a major sponsor for the 2007 season.

De Beers and Ferrari have both revealed that there is absolutely no deal being signed between them. It was initially reported that De Beers would be replacing the departing Vodafone as a major sponsor for the 2007 season. The diamond minning and trading company's spokesperson Lynne Hori had this to say about the deal, or lack there of:

"There is a natural association between diamonds and the glamorous world of F1, but De Beers have no intention of sponsoring a Formula One team."

A Ferrari spokeswoman also confirmed that there is no deal between De Beers and the Scuderia:

"We know nothing about it. Furthermore, we do not comment on speculation"
