Ferrari organized a crisis meeting at Maranello yesterday to discuss the Scuderia's rather dismal situation. Not only did Ferrari discuss their performance as of late, but they are also concerned with declining fan support at the Italian Grand Prix. At Monza last weekend, Ferrari's performance was clearly visable, but not because of what happened on track. There was a fan turn out of 30% less than previous years and television viewership dropped by 2.7 million Italian viewers. Michael Schumacher, ever the optimist is even beginning to show signs of sadness for Ferrari. Here is what Schumacher had to say about this weekend's race in Belgium: "I always have special feelings when this race comes around. But I have to admit that our recent performances are dampening my enthusiasm. I don't have the impression we will do all that well at Spa." |
