No Team Orders
In Japan
Pleads Brawn

MFerrari Technical Director Ross Brawn has stated that there should be no team orders from either Renault or Ferrari In Japan. Brawn wants to see a straight fight between Schumacher and Alonso and for Massa or Fisichella to not get involved and affect the outcome of the race or the World Championship. This is what Ross had to say:

"I think we don't want to see second drivers blocking or slowing down the championship contenders. I think that would be a bit unfortunate and unacceptable.

I think it's something which we know that we were involved in a few years ago, and it was considered normal practice then. It's been deemed to be unacceptable now so we understand that. I think there's a certain level which is logical and fair and another level which has to be avoided because it's not correct."

Brawn is quite right. The last thing which Renault, Ferrari or Formula 1 in general needs is a controversy in the Championship battle, because of team orders. Now certainly many fans will point out that Ferrari has used team orders in the past to manipulate the World Championship outcome, but that is in the past. For these last two races, there should be no tampering by the teams, just a flat out race between Schumacher and Alonso.
