Reports appearing on the web and the International media say that Jordan is closer to financial ruin than ever before. So much so that Dietrich Mateschitz, CEO of Red Bull is just waiting for the team to fold before purchasing the lot, lock stock and barrel.

Max Moseley warned last year that there could be as few as 18 cars making the grid in Australia.  Arrows haven't made it to the grid and Jordan are yet to announce a second driver and title sponsor, all indications that the team is in financial dire straits.  Jordan however isn't ready to roll over and die.  Eddie is no stranger to running a team on a shoestring and has readily admitted that the team runs better as a compact unit. 

Mateschitz has been rumoured to have offered to buy 65% of the team, vehemently denied by Jordan. It would appear now that Red Bull wants the whole team and is planning to replace Eddie Jordan with Eddie Cheever.

A worrying report for any Jordan fan, however a team spokesperson described the rumour today as "Rubbish".  Jordan are confident that sponsors and drivers will be found well before the season starts if they've not been found already.  The car takes to the test track in Spain (note, not Silverstone which is next door) next week.  Fisichella is confirmed and there have been a number of moves by personnel within the team. 

The story which appeared in the Swiss media can clearly be discounted and Jordan without doubt will be on the grid in Australia.
