Jordan have moved to discount rumours circulating on the Net and from within this website with respect to Jos Verstappen's alleged deal with the team.
A statement on the official Jordan website says: "In spite of intense media speculation concerning various drivers and their possible links with Jordan, the team has made no decision concerning either the second race seat or reserve driver. Team boss Eddie Jordan is concentrating on finalising sponsorship agreements prior to making any decisions or announcements regarding the driver line-up, so the stories linking the team definitively with certain drivers are rather wide of the mark."
When asked, a Jordan spokesperson said "Regarding the second driver - there is nothing new to say." They continued "We have had contact with several drivers but nothing has been finalised. The timing of the announcement depends on when an agreement is reached, so any speculation about the date of an announcement is just that. The date of the EJ13's first outing is confidential, so no details will be released until that time."
It maybe another two to three weeks before we know what the team have finalised with whichever of the numerous drivers they've been contacted by although we know that commercial considerations are foremost in the plans for Jordan's 2003.
