Eddie Jordan has again scratched his head over rumours about Eddie Irvine's return to the team that gave him his big break in F1. We told you this months ago. Our story "Jordan scotch rumours about Eddie Irvine" told how rumours appearing in the press were "baseless and without any foundation".
In EJ's webchat with ITV-F1, we asked Eddie if Takuma will line up with
Giancarlo next year. Eddie said "My view is absolutely. We do have a
contract with him but corporate Japan have to make some future commitment and
I'm sure they will."
"Is there any truth in the rumour that Eddie
Irvine is going to race for you next season?" asked badger.
EJ: I have heard this and I have had no talk with Eddie whatsoever about this
and I don't know how this rumour started.
Our story, months previously said:
"Jordan Grand Prix have moved to scotch the rumours
that Eddie Irvine is to move to the team next year at the expense of either
Giancarlo Fisichella or Takuma Sato.
Jordan's Official Site says that "Jordan Grand Prix has pointed out that rumours
concerning the possibility of Eddie Irvine driving for the team next year are
'entirely baseless and without any foundation.' A fabricated story has appeared
in several British newspapers and websites without any approach to the team
being made to verify the rumour."
It just goes to show. You should keep it tuned to Jordan Fans Online.
