Ian Out For Season

Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Westlake has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.

Westy picked up the injury during Town’s 1-1 draw with Hull at the weekend and was instantly ruled out for Town’s game against Luton on Saturday but now an X-ray has revealed the injury will force him to miss the remainder of the season.

 

Town manager Joe Royle:  “Ian had an X-ray and while there is no fracture the ankle is very loose and badly swollen.

 

“The surgeon has not ruled out an operation and has ordered Ian to rest for six to eight weeks, which means his season is over.

 

“The two games against Hull have been costly for us this season. We lost Nicky Forster in the game up there and are still waiting for him to play again.”
