Ipswich Town defender Chris Casement says he is delighted after making his Town debut against Crystal Palace earlier today.

Chris came on for the final 20 minutes of Town’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace earlier today, making him the fifth player from Town’s youth cup side to make the change from youth and reserve team action to the first time this season.

 

Casement: “The gaffer told me to go out and enjoy it and play with a smile on my face and I did just that.

 

“It was great to be in the 16 but getting on was a terrific bonus and I was just thrilled to be given a chance.

 

“The pace was certainly quicker than the U18s and reserves but I felt I did okay and got forward as much as I could.

 

“I felt we were worth the draw and had chances to have won the game but for me personally, it's about building from here and aiming to hold down a regular place in the first-team squad.”

 

Casements parents were over from Ireland for St Patrick’s day and his younger sister turned 16 this past week.
