Ipswich Town midfielder Owen Garvan is aiming to one day reach the premiership with Town.

The 18-year-old signed a contract extension with Town today that will keep him at Portman Road until 2009 and he aims to spend part of that contracts length playing in the top flight with Town.

Owen: “It is a boost to my confidence that Premiership clubs are said to have watched me this season but I've always seen my future here at Ipswich Town, things have gone okay for me this season but I know I have a lot to learn in the game and this is a great place to be educated.

“The contract talks have been going on a little while but I still had two years left on my old deal so it was never a problem.

“It's nice to have signed now though and hopefully I can play my part in making it a successful end to the season by helping the team finish in the Play-Off places. That is all that I'm concentrating on.

“We have been improving all the time over the second-half of the season and while it's going to be difficult to break into that top six, if we keep on picking up points it can happen.

“Like any player I want to play in the Premiership and I'm determined to get there with Ipswich.”
