Joe After Defender

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle says he is hoping to bring another central defender to Portman Road for next season.

Town could start next season with just two experienced centre backs, Jason De Vos and Richard Naylor after the decision to let Aidan Collins leave Town in the summer, but the shortage is something Joe is looking to put right.

 

Joe: “Central defence is the position we are looking at mostly.

 

“It will be our top spot for next year and certainly the target for most of our scouting.

 

“We won't stunt Chris Casement's progress because he has done very well but we will be looking at bringing in someone who is further on, maybe in their 20s rather than the 18-year-olds.”
