Scans For Duo

Ipswich Town are waiting for the results of a scan on Gavin Williams’ knee while Sam Parkin may need an x-ray next week.

Gavin has been struggling with a knee injury since Town’s 2-1 win against Norwich at the start of this month and he a had a scan today to try and discover the extent of the damage.

Town physio Dave Williams: “He took a bad knock on his ankle and shin and it also aggravated a knee injury that had kept him out for a game or two.

“The ankle is easing now but the knee has become more of a problem and he has had a scan today. We will know the results on Friday and can go from there but the discomfort appears to be in two or three places.”

Parkin has been slowly recovering from a broken ankle but progress has come to a halt this week and he may need an x-ray to discover why, Town physio Dave Williams added: “He has had a bit of a setback and has not trained this week, we will see what developments there are over the next few days and have another look on Monday.

“Hopefully we will see some improvements next week and he will be able to do more on it but if there is no sign then he might have to have another scan or see the specialist.”
