Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has backed Luton Town manager Mike Newell’s claims about corrupt agents in football.
Newell yesterday said he was prepared to name and shame agents who had offered him “bungs” and Joe believes it does go on but he has not accepted a single back hander.
Royle: “It has obviously happened elsewhere. The evidence is in the book Broken Dreams (Tom Bowers' investigation into football corruption). No one has sued. But I'd hate to think people thought every football manager is corrupt because they are not.”
