Ipswich Town have today completed the signing of Cardiff City striker Alan Lee until the summer of 2008.

The 27-year-old passed a medical at Town’s training ground this morning before signing the 2 and a half year deal, the fee for the Republic of Ireland Striker is believed to be £150,000.

 

Alan: “It's a new challenge for me here and I can't wait to get started.

 

“I only got permission to speak to Joe Royle on Monday but he didn't have to sell the club to me.

 

“I have played at Portman Road a few times and I have always enjoyed coming here. It's a fantastic stadium with great supporters and there has always been a terrific atmosphere.

 

“Looking around the ground and the training facilities, everything here is Premiership class and I want to play my part in helping Ipswich Town get back to the highest level.

 

“Looking at the table, Reading and Sheffield United look set for the top two places but the Play-Offs are up for grabs for so many clubs and I don't see why we can't be one of them.”
