Fab On Stoke Match

Ipswich Town defender Fabian Wilnis says a point away at Stoke was a good way for Town to start the New Year.

Fab scored his first goal since 2003 when he scored against Norwich in the east Anglian derby and he says scoring today was a good way him and Town to start 2006.

Fab: “It's been a good start to the New Year after this point at Stoke following on from the win over Luton on Saturday, I think it was a fair result although obviously we are disappointed to draw after being two goals ahead so early on.

“It was obviously nice to score after such a long run without a goal. I've said it's been coming for a while.

“The 'keeper did well to save my first shot which I really hit well but I hit the second one even better and was thrilled to see the ball hit the net.

“We knew Stoke would be a problem in the air. They have got so many tall players but I thought we defended well and certainly deserved a point out of the game.”
