Westy Praises Matt

Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Westlake believes that fellow Town midfielder Matt Richards was never going to miss the penalty he took on Saturday.

Richards converted the 56th minute penalty to give Town a 3-1 lead over Plymouth, which Town held on to and Westy believes Matt was not going to miss from 12-yards.

 

Westlake: “Matt was never going to miss.

 

“He's one of the most level-headed people I know and he's not fazed by anything.

 

“I'd back him to keep his nerve if he had to take a penalty in the World Cup final.

 

“It just goes to show how crazy football is.

 

“Matt's doubled his overall tally in the space of two games, and I think there could be more to come now he's started playing in midfield.”
