Town Wait On Skard

Ipswich Town are hopeful that new signing Vemund Brekke-Skard will be cleared to play for Town before the transfer window.

Skard started training with Town today after joining from Norwegian second division side Bremunddal last month when he signed a deal that will keep him at Town until the summer of 2007, but as he is a professional back in Norway he can’t join Town until the new year but Town manager Joe Royle is hoping that Town can find a loophole so he can play sooner.

 

Royle: “Vemund's with us now and at the latest he will be clear to play for us from January 1 onwards, but if we can tweak the regulations in the meantime, then maybe sooner. When I say tweak I mean find a legal loophole - and we're looking!

 

“He's a ball-winning midfield player who will bring something different to the squad. He can play as well and is a tremendously fit lad.”
