Mahon Bid Denied

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has denied Town made any formal approach for Wigan midfielder Alan Mahon.

Reports on a number of websites (this one included) had suggested that Town had made an approach for the 27-year-old which Wigan turned down.

 

Royle: “Our chief scout Colin Suggett had a conversation with one of the Wigan scouts about Alan's situation.

 

“I have not spoken to Paul Jewell about Alan though and there has been no formal approach made to Wigan either.”
