Ipswich Town’s second string were defeated 4-2 by the Arsenal reserve side at Portman Road last night.
Dean Bowditch scored twice for Town who had to play most of the game with just ten men because Aidan Collins was sent-off early in the first half.
Collins lasted just 12 minutes of the game before he saw red for a foul on Nicklas Bendtner inside the box, the referee awarded a penalty which Arturo Lupoli converted to give the visitors the lead.
Lupoli scored a hat-trick on the night with two more goals coming from him in the 37th and 53rd minutes.
Dean Bowditch continued to push for a starting place in the first team by scoring twice in the last ten minutes, his first coming on 80 minutes and his second on 90 to make it 3-2 to Arsenal before Nicklas Bendtner made it 4-2 from the restart.
