Royle Rules Out Defenders

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has ruled out bringing in another defender but does have other possible targets.

Football League clubs can bring in “emergency” loan signings until the end of November, although no one is entirely clear on what an “emergency” is.

 

The transfer window closed yesterday and Royle has revealed Town came close to signing somebody.

 

Royle said: “At one stage it looked like we were going to get somebody but in the end it didn't happen. We got James McEveley from Blackburn on Monday and when we have everyone fit I'm happy with the options I now have.

 

“I still have one or two ideas about who I want to bring in but it won't be a defender.”
