Joe Praises McDonald

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has praised Town youngster Dean McDonald following a successful Town debut.

The 19-year-old started for Town against Sheffield Wednesday yesterday and gave the Wednesday defence a hard time with his pace and skills.

 

Royle: “Dean McDonald impressed me. He runs at people and is not only very quick but a tough little cookie.

 

“He was a bit down when he was released by Arsenal, but he has grown stronger and stronger. He has great talent and there is a dearth of players in England who run at the opposition with the ball.

 

“We know he is going to be a crowd-pleaser and as long as he produces an end product, it will be brilliant.”
