On-loan Charlton defender Mark Fish is hoping he can do enough in a month to earn him self a permanent deal at Portman Road.

The 31-year-old signed on a months loan from Charlton earlier today and will make his Town debut against QPR tomorrow night in place of Jason De Vos.

 

Fish: “I'm looking forward to playing some first-team football and hopefully helping Ipswich enjoy a good start to the season.

 

“I spoke to Matty Holland and Hermann at Charlton and they told me what a good club Ipswich is and what a good manager Joe Royle is to work for so it was an easy decision for me to come here.

 

“I'm still contracted to Charlton for another year but Alan Curbishley has told me that if I can find a new club then he would be willing to let me go and a move to Ipswich would certainly appeal.

 

“When you look around the facilities and the set-up here, it's a club that deserves to be in the Premiership and I'm here to play my part in the Club getting back to that level.”
