Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has ruled out re-singing former Ipswich Town defender Chris Makin.
The 32-year-old left Town last summer to have a trial with premiership side Bolton Wanderers but failed to win himself a contract with the trotters and joined
Many Town fans were not pleased with Makin’s u-turn after he in principle agreed to sign for Town and they showed their disgust by booing him when he returned to Portman Road.
Joe: “I heard one or two murmurs along the lines of 'Would you be interested in signing Chris?'
“But I said we wouldn't be. I don't think he's for us now, although I wish him well wherever he goes.
“Chris is not for us. It is said in football that you can never say never, but at the moment I would say no - it is very, very unlikely.
“The situation last year could have been handled better.
“I wanted to see how fit Chris was after his injury and I had a two-year contract waiting for him once he had proved his fitness.
“I desperately wanted him to stay but he decided to move on. I was disappointed at the time with the way it happened.”
