Young Ipswich Town defenders Scott Barron and Scott Mitchell are both recovering well from recent surgery and looking forward to a return to training.
The 19-year-old duo have both made their first team debuts, Barron’s coming in the carling cup tie against Brentford last season and Mitchell’s came against Derby County in late 2003.
Barron unfortunately missed most of the remainder of the campaign with a groin injury but after two operations he should be back in time for the start of pre-season training.
Town physio Dave Williams: “The operation went well and we will gradually build up Scott's exercise over the next week or so, all things being well he should be on schedule to take part in the full pre-season programme.”
Mitchell on the other hand is not due to be out of a cast until the end of this month so will miss at least part of the pre-season programme, Williams added: “We will spend a couple of weeks in the gym getting his movement back so it is likely to be at least mid-July before he is running again, realistically we are looking at August before he can start football training, so he will be a few weeks behind the other players.”
