Billy Making Progress

Young Ipswich Town striker Billy Clarke is recovering well following an operation on his medial knee ligaments.

The 17-year-old picked up the injury during Town’s youth sides FA Youth Cup semi-final second leg against Spurs meaning he missed both legs of the final against Southampton.

Billy has said: “It was frustrating to miss the two games and not be on the pitch on such a great occasion but that's football, Injuries are part of the game although it was a bad time to pick up my first real one.

“The operation went well though and now it's a case of spending time swimming and working on the bike to build up the knee.

“If everything carries on according to plan, I should be back in pre-season training a week or so after the other lads.”
