Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has told striker Pablo Couñago he will not be offered a new deal at Portman Road.

Couñago last week said he would take a pay cut to stay at Portman Road but it appears that was not enough to persuade Joe that Pablo is worth keeping.

 

Royle: “We have told Pablo that he is not in our plans for next season. He came back from pre-season training last summer unfit and never got fully fit. He could not do 90 minutes for us.

 

“We got on fine. I gave him his chance and if you look at the records George Burley very rarely played him. Any talk of me having a vendetta against Pablo is way off the mark and I wish him well in the future.”

 

Couñago scored 31 times in 100 appearances (49 as a substitute) during his four years at Town.

 

Now that Pablo has gone it seems a good time to bring this back up and ask who will be up front for us next season we have two contracted strikers left those being Dean Bowditch and Darren Bent and Bent looks set to leave this summer the only player have been linked with is Ashley Ward from Sheffield United.
