Rangers Friendly

Ipswich Town have today announced that they will be playing Scottish Champions Rangers in a friendly at Portman Road in July.

‘Gers lifted the Scottish Premier League title on the final day of the season after a win against Tony Mowbray’s Hibs while Celtic lost against Terry Butcher’s Motherwell.  

 

Town boss Joe Royle is delighted with the prospect of facing the Scottish giants, saying: “It's fantastic news and I'm really looking forward to it, they will come here as Champions and I'm sure every Rangers fan in southern England that can't get to Glasgow every week will want to see them here at Portman Road.

 

"They will bring their galaxy of stars and maybe even some new players as well so it's a very exciting game for us, a game that any club would welcome as a pre-season friendly."

 

The match will kick-off at 7.45pm with tickets going on sale in the week commencing June 13.
