Jim: Hard Thinking Ahead

Ipswich Town Captain Jim Magilton is happy he has been offered a new contract but says he wont be signing it until he has been able to think about it.

Jim has been handed another year on his contract if he wants it, but he may feel the time is right for him to move him self and his family back up to the northwest where he still has a home.

Jim: “I had a real heart to heart with the gaffer and he was fantastic to me.

“I have an enormous amount of respect for him and it was a real honour when he turned around and told me he wanted me here for another year. That meant a lot to me.

“I love this Club, everyone knows that. I have spent the best years of my career here and leading the team out as skipper has been a real privilege but I also have a number of other considerations to take into account, especially at my age.

“I've got to sit down and talk to the people who are close to me and run everything through my mind.

“I'm going away for while and that will give me a chance to do some serious thinking about what lies ahead for me.

“Two weeks away will give me time to discuss things and come to a decision.

“I'm still getting over the disappointment of losing out on the Play-Offs but I know I have a big decision to make about next season and need time to make it.”
