Former Ipswich Town defender George Santos is still backing Town to reach the premiership this season.

Today Santos made his first return to Portman Road since leaving in the summer and despite his current side taking all three points today he still believes Town will still go up.

Santos: “We deserved to win but I still expect Ipswich to go up.

“They have some quality players and are likely to come back from the defeat against us and win at Wigan next week.

“We had a game plan today which involved the front two players dropping off and stopping Jim Magilton play.

“I know how important he is to Ipswich and so does the gaffer and the tactics worked really well.

“We had chances to have scored a second goal before we did but I think we definitely deserved the win.”
