Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie has said playing at Ipswich has been easier than playing anywhere else in his career.

Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie has said playing at Ipswich has been easier than playing anywhere else in his career.

The 30-year-old who joined Town from Brighton at the back of 2004 in a £250,000 deal has scored three goals including a debut goal against QPR is enjoying his time at Town and he appreciates playing near the top level with Town.

Currie: “Being at Ipswich, and being at the top, is everything I expected and a little bit more, really.

“I have seen two sides of the coin this season, with Brighton scrapping to stay in the division and Ipswich fighting to get out and into the Premiership.

“It has taken me 10 years to get to this level. I have been through a hell of a lot and that has made me appreciate this now with Ipswich.

“Why it has taken me so long to get to a club like Ipswich, I don't know. But, I would say I'm a better player now at 30 than I was at 20.

“No disrespect to any of my former clubs, or players, but it is a lot easier to play at Ipswich than anywhere else.

“The quality of the players makes it a lot easier for me and I have never felt more comfortable playing.”
