Former Arsenal youngster Dean McDonald has today signed a contract keeping him at Portman Road until the summer at least.

Former Arsenal youngster Dean McDonald has today signed a contract keeping him at Portman Road until the summer at least.

The 18-year-old winger was one of 15 players released by the Premiership champions last summer and after a six week trial at Town he was offered a deal to take him though until the end of the season, but he would like to stay beyond that.

McDonald: “It's great to sign and I am really enjoying myself at Ipswich, I've made some friends here already and hopefully I can stay here longer than the end of the season.

“That's my target, to impress the manager, force my way into the first-team squad and perhaps get a few games as well and then hopefully win myself a permanent contract.”
