Town striker Jon Stead could complete a move to Bristol City this week, despite Town only having one fit an experienced striker at the moment. A fee of around £225,000 has reportedly been agreed between the two clubs and the 27-year-old is expected to follow Jon Walters and Pablo Counago out of Portman Road next week.
Bristol City boss Keith Millen: "He's someone we've been looking to sign for a while and it looks like we are close now. We hope to conclude a deal early next week."
Town manager Roy Keane: "It's out of my hands. There should be news in the next 24 to 48 hours.
"It's up in the air at the moment. Jon impressed today, as he has done ever since pre-season. He's kept his head down, despite all the speculation, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. I'm no accountant."
