Town manager Roy Keane wants to sign Wigan Athletic striker Jason Scotland on-loan in time for him to play against Middlesbrough tomorrow. The 31-year-old joined Wigan last year for £2 million but managed to score just 2 goals in 36 appearances for the Latics and has been deemed surplus to requirements by Wigan boss Roberto Martinez.
Before joining Wigan, Scotland was at Swansea where he scored 53 goals in 105 games after joining the Swans from St Johnstone in 2007.
Should Keane be able to land Scotland in time for Town's game against Middlesbrough it is expected a permanent deal will follow before the transfer window closes.
