Keane: It Was Stead’s Choice

Town manager Roy Keane says it was Jon Stead’s choice to go on-loan to Coventry City until the end of the season and it is nothing personal. Keane: "When I put these opportunities to players, it's up to the player, just like it was with Alex Bruce (to Leicester) a few weeks ago.

"It's nothing personal, it's just if a player wants a guaranteed run of games, that I can't give them, and if the deal is right for the club, then we'll put it to the player. It's no big issue.

"It happens with players. Some see it as an opportunity to play a few games, others will want to stay and fight for their place. Players are in control of it,"
