Town manager Jim Magilton has blasted the way the local press has covered a routine meeting between him and some of his players in the build up to the Norwich game. Jim held a meeting with 8 of his squad in the week leading up to Town's game, something he does most weeks, but something the local newspapers decided was news worthy.

Jim: "The way the game is now, everyone wants instant success and think they are entitled to that success but it doesn't work like that. The Championship is a very hard league to get out of and the only way to achieve it is to work harder than everyone else. I've got a fantastic staff who are doing that and an honest bunch of players who are determined to get to the Premier League.

"I know I have my critics out there. I knew that would be the case when I came into the job. It goes with management but I have total self belief that I'm the right man for this Club and can take us forward.

"I think the people of East Anglia want this Club to do well and the players are desperate to get to the Premier League and it would be nice if we received some support from the local press but that doesn't seem to be case.

"You would think that your papers would want to back their local club but they have been nowhere near 100 per cent.

"I can accept criticism when we have not performed well but at the moment everything we do is jumped upon with a negative attitude. A meeting with seven or eight players a few weeks ago has become a storm in a tea cup with talk of disharmony in the camps.
"It's a load of old rubbish. I had a meeting behind closed doors yesterday but that wasn't reported, was it! Disharmony to me is when we can't string three passes together.

"Still, we move on. What I do know is that everyone here is united in their determination to get to where we want to be and we will get there in the end."

Jim told one reporter today where to go, and Jim I don't blame you.
