Title Winner Passes Way

Dermot Curtis, a member of the Ipswich side that won the League Championship in 1962 under Sir Alf Ramsey, passed away at the weekend following a long illness. The 76-year-old played for Town for 5 years, joining from Bristol City in 1958, he won promotion from the old second division (Championship) into the old first division (Premiership) in 1961 and a year later he had helped Town become Champions of England.

He played for the Republic of Ireland 17 times, becoming only the second ever Town player to win international caps.

The Singing The Blues staff and users would like to send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Dermot.
