Report: Town 3-0 Barnsley

Town climbed to 11th in the Championship table, just 2 points off the play-off places following a 3-0 win against Barnsley earlier tonight. Town were virtually gifted their first goal of the evening after 20 minutes, despite Barnsley being an equal to Town in the early stages.
Barnsley ‘keeper Heinz Muller's poor pass to one of his defenders was intercepted by Town striker Jon Stead who calmly placed the ball into the net to give Town a 1-0 lead.
Despite the howler Heinz still proved to be a top class ‘keeper pulling off two top class saves to deny Town further goals, one from an Ivan Campo free-kick that was destined for the top corner, the other from a header which Heinz kept out with an out stretched arm.
Town did eventually double their lead, Owen Garvan linking up well with Pablo Counago for the Spaniard to return the pass which Garvan curled into the net after 66 minutes.
Campo made it 3-0 just 3 minutes later, 35-yards from goal the North Stand encouraged him to shoot, he obliged and Heinz was somehow unable to hold onto the low shoot and spilled it into the net.
Ipswich: Richard Wright, Bruce, Naylor, McAuley, David Wright, Walters (Lisbie 77), Campo, Garvan (Norris 77), Quinn, Stead, Counago (Haynes 86).
