Trotter To Grimsby

Town midfielder Liam Trotter has joined League Two side Grimsby Town on-loan for a month as Jim looks to give him some first team experience. The paperwork should be done in time for the 20-year-old midfielder to face Morcambe on Saturday.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "It's important that our younger players are gaining experience of first team football all the time, Liam will have a chance of getting regular football over the next month and that will add to his education in the game."

Grimsby caretaker manager Stuart Watkiss, added: "We've managed to persuade Ipswich to let him out. He's an attacking midfielder and he will definitely be in the squad on Saturday.

"He's 6'2 and is obviously a big strong lad."
