Town make their 170 mile return Hillsborough on Saturday hoping to repeat last seasons win. We faced a very poor Wednesday side last time round and recorded our first away win of the campaign after 6 months of trying, This season we face a different prospect, The Owls are playing better football which currently sees them sitting in Mid-table on 8 points. However, they were whalloped in midweek and Brian Laws will want an instant reaction to the humiliating 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Reading.
The owls had an up and down season last year, eventually finishing in 16th position. They could not have started this season any better though, topping the table on the first day by beating Burnley 4-1 at Hillsborough. A reversal of that scoreline followed the week after at Wolves, then two 1-1 draws, home to Preston and away at Swansea. Last Saturday they (like Town) recorded their 2nd League win of the season by beating Watford 2-0 at Hillsborough. But, as mentioned earlier, were brought back down to earth with a bump at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night. The owls League Cup campaign ended at the first round stage, losing to local rivals Rotherham United on penalties after the game ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
Marcus Tudgay and Deon Burton will be the likely leading duo up front on Saturday, Tudgay has netted 3 times so far with Burton yet to find the net. In midfield Etienne Esajas has also hit the target 3 times, so he's another one to keep an eye on.
The Owls will play in their familiar blue and white home strip whilst Town will be in their change strip of all red.

Our Biggest loss came in the Premier League back in 1994, The Owls on the right end of a 5-0 drubbing. The Highest attendance of 30,213, witnessed another Premier League encounter in 1995, Alex Mathie scored a consolation goal for Ipswich in reply to Wednesday's 4. The lowest gate of 17,268, saw Ray Crawford bag a hat-trick in a 3-0 win for Ipswich, when Hillsborough looked quite modern, in 1962.
Unsurprisingly Ray Crawford tops the scoring charts against The Owls, with nine goals. Alan Lee, Ted Phillips, Mich D'Avray, and Pablo Counago all netted 3 times. Eric Gates scored twice.
Twenty three Players have worn the blue and white of both clubs, they include, Alan Quinn, Dalien Atkinson, Lee Chapman and Shefki Kuqi.

Is manager Jim Magilton, who needs to get his tactics right from the off, against an Owls side looking to right the wrongs from midweek. The Gaffer could find himself in real trouble if we carry on with this inconsistency we've endured for the last 3 years.
Time for him to stand up and take the blame for defeats and not just use the excuse 'sloppy' goals.
Leggi predicts: Well, what felt like a defeat on Wednesday against some kiddies on the South coast, its time to 'up it' against a much better Sheffield Wednesday side. It could go two ways this game, if Jim opts for our 1 up front option it will be a backs up against the wall performance and we'll end up losing 2 or 3 nil. If the 'top man' shows a bit of bottle and uses an attacking formation we should have more class in the final 3rd than the owls and could grab a tight win, 1-0 or 2-1.
