Town Chief Executive Derek Bowden has denied reports suggesting Town have made a bid for Portsmouth striker David Nugent. Reports earlier this week suggested Town had bid £3.5 million for the striker who snubbed the chance to join Town on-loan last season but Bowden says any report of a bid is wide of the mark.
Bowden: "We have not made any formal offer for the player."
While the Nugent link appears to a false dawn Bowden did confirm Town are still in talks with Ben Thatcher over a possible move, adding: "We are in discussions with Ben Thatcher and we will see what develops over the next few days,"
