Town youngster Jordan Rhodes is eyeing a spot in the Town first team next season and he certainly helped his case with two goals last night against Tiptree. The 18-year-old who was prolific for Town's youth and reserve sides last season scored twice in Town's 5-0 win over Tiptree United last night and although he knows he has a challenge ahead of him Rhodes want to be playing first team football at Portman Road next season.

Rhodes: "There are a lot of good strikers at the club, with Pablo, Alan, Jon, Danny and now Kevin who are all such good players.

"I have time on my side. I signed a three-year deal which I'm absolutely thrilled about. I hope to carry on developing and carry on getting goals.

"Scoring two goals against Tiptree lifts my confidence and if I can get anywhere near my total last year I will be happy."

Other goals for Town against Tiptree last night came from Alex Bruce, Jack Ainsley and Billy Clarke.
