Prepared For Owen Exit

Town manager Jim Magilton says he has plans if Owen Garvan decides not to sign the contract extension that Town have offered him. The 20-year-old midfielder is currently away on holiday but Jim plans to sit down with him once he returns to discuss the deal which he hopes he signs, although if he doesn't he will look for another midfielder.

Jim: "I have heard nothing from Owen, we offered him a contract extension before the end of last season and I am still waiting to sit down and discuss it with him.

"Hopefully he recognises that his own ambitions match those of Ipswich Town.

"If not we will have to do something about it.

"Owen finished last season well, and he continues in the same vein he will start in the team this term."

I would'nt be too bothered if Garven went, he's a long long way from being a top class midfielder and (to me) only seems to be bothered to put in the effort at Portman Road!!!

i would be glad to see him go. he's far to slow, and not quick enough on the ball. we want to be thinking about keeping haynes here.

I'd be quite happy if he (Haynes) went too Danny!
