Town will face League Two side Leyton Orient in the first round of the Carling Cup at Portman Road in August. The game will take place on the week commencing the 11th of August with Tuesday the 12th being the likely date. Town manager Jim Magilton says he is keen to make up for Town's poor showing the in the competition in recent years, having failed to make it past the first round for four years running.

Jim: "Our record has not been good in the competition lately and that's something we have to change, Orient will relish coming to Portman Road and trying to take the scalp of a club in a higher division and it will be an opportunity for their players to show they can cope with playing at a higher level.

"We will have to match their work ethic and commitment but we are at home and we proved last season that we are a threat to any team at Portman Road."
