Bid Rejected For Johnson?

Town have reportedly had a £1 million bid for Cardiff City defender Roger Johnson rejected by the Bluebirds who reportedly want £3 million. The 25-year-old 6ft 3in defender played 41 league games for Cardiff last season and the 6 FA Cup games as Cardiff went to Wembley. He joined Cardiff from Wycombe in the summer of 2006 for £275,000.

Elsewhere Town are reported to be keen on signing Fulham goalkeeper Antti Niemi, the 36-year-old ‘keeper is seen as surplus to requirements as Fulham have Kasey Keller and Mark Schwarzer as their current goalkeepers.

And Town chief executive Derek Bowden says Town have received no bids for any players, which rubbishes reports that Stoke had bid £1 million for Jon Walters, Bowden said: "We have had no offers for contracted players and we are not inviting any either."
