Dagenham and Redbridge defender Scott Griffiths is reportedly one of the players Town want to sign to bolster their defence for next season. The 22-year-old left-back has been linked with both Town and Reading and according to some reports he is aware of the interest from both clubs, but the Daggers have yet to receive any offers for him or any of their players but they wouldn't stop them moving on.
Dagenham and Redbridge Chief executive Steve Thompson: "We have had no offers for Scott or any of our players and it seems this is just an internet rumour.
"We sell the club to potential signings on the basis that if a club higher up comes in with a reasonable offer then we would not prevent them from furthering their career."
Scott has represented England at semi-professional level and was on the books of Southend United as a youngster.
Elsewhere a fee of as much as £1.7 million is being reported as what Leicester City for Town target Gareth McAuley as QPR are now reportedly keen on the 28-year-old defender who has ten caps for Northern Ireland.
