Report: Town 1-1 Cardiff

Town had to come from behind to gain appoint against FA Cup finalists Cardiff City at Portman road earlier this evening. Cardiff went ahead thanks to Town's normal level of comical defending, Gavin Rae was allowed to tap the ball home from a yard out after Aaron Ramsey had slid the ball across the Town goalmouth after 37 minutes.

Jordan Rhodes came on for Town at the start of the second half and he scored his first senior goal after 18 minutes when he was the only player awake enough to play the advantage after Cardiff had thought they had given away a free kick, Rhodes firing past Enckelman from 10 yards.

Town thought they had snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat when Danny Haynes managed to find the back of the net but the goal was ruled out for a push of Glenn Loovens.

Ipswich: Bywater, Simpson, De Vos, Bruce, Sito (Wright 62), Haynes, Garvan, Miller, Quinn (Sumulikoski 79), Roberts (Rhodes 46), Lee.
Subs Not Used: Colgan, Williams.
Booked: Garvan, Sito.
Goals: Rhodes 73.

Cardiff: Enckelman, Blake, Johnson, Loovens, Capaldi (Whittingham 63), Ramsey, Rae, McPhail, Scimeca (Sinclair 69), Thompson, Ledley (Hasselbaink 83).
Subs Not Used: Purse, Oakes. Booked: Capaldi.
Goals: Rae 37.
